Nigeria Consolidates Its TIER ONE Position In The Recently Released Global TIP Report of 2011

Nigeria, the most populous black nation in the world and most populated country in Africa, have scaled another milestone by maintaining her TIER 1 status in the just released Global Report on Trafficking In Persons (TIP) for the year 2011 by the US Department of State. In the report which was prepared and signed by the US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, Nigeria and Mauritius are found to be the only countries in Africa whose governments fully comply with the Trafficking Victims Protection Act’s (TVPA) minimum standards, while countries such as Somalia, Haiti and Ivory Coast were given a "Special Case" status. This laudable achievements which now makes it three years and still counting, is a handiwork of gallant officers and men of the National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic In Persons & Other related Matters (NAPTIP). Congratulations Nigeria, well done NAPTIP.
