FIRST SET OF FULANI HERDSMEN ARRESTED IN BENUE

Image
The issue of nomadic cattle breeders of the Fulani stock destroying farmer's crops is not new, it has bedevilled the Food Basket State for ages. But never has Benue State experienced this kind of destruction, massacre and carnage from the now heavily armed herdsmen who invade communities unannounced leaving behind death and destruction of properties that cannot be quantifiable. The hue and cry of the innocent, helpless seemed to have fall on deaf ears as the killer herdsmen operated for long periods of time without real or positive intervention from the authorities. The lackadaisical attitude displayed by the authorities have led majority of the Benue citizens into concluding that the government of the day is hostile against them, making the ruling party of the State, APC, very unpopular ahead of the 2019 elections. However, in a dramatic turn of events, the Nigerian Police Force in Benue State seemed to have woken up from their state of deniability. News monitored online has it

WHY EFCC IS LOSING CORRUPTION CASES - FALANA

Image
As a result of the loss of corruption cases last week, many civil society organisations (CSOs) appear to agree with the federal government that corruption is fighting back. However, before engaging in escapism by accusing the judiciary of compromise, it is pertinent to examine the facts and circumstances of the loss of these cases. I shall predict that the federal government stands to lose more corruption cases unless the authorities are prepared to reorganise the anti-graft agencies and review the anti-corruption policy in line with the proposals designed by the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) on the prosecution of politically exposed persons. Concern Over the Loss of Prosecution Cases Following a string of court rulings against high profile corruption cases last week, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on President Buhari to “adopt a revolutionary approach to his government’s fight against corruption by referring

HOW TO HANDLE A SUSPICIOUS WIFE

Image
Handling a suspicious wife is one of the greatest challenges a man can face in a marriage. A couple that suspects each other is bound to lose love and affection for each other. There is no way two people can live together in harmony as husband and wife under the same roof with a suspicious attitude. It might hold on for a while but it will soon crack and break into a fight or divorces. A suspicious wife has a dangerous effect to the unity and growth of a family. One basic thing to bear in mind in an attempt to control or handle this situation is; every effort made in this quest must be channeled to the emotions of your wife. Suspicious attitude in a wife can only be handled a man’s ability to break into the emotions of his wife to correct an existing impression she might have about him. What can make a woman suspicious of her husband? Natural character of a woman: This might be surprising to hear but it is true; some women have a natural character of suspecting their men. For these
